Situation Report:
While the total acreage increased this afternoon, hand crews and helicopters were able to strengthen existing lines and slightly improve containment. The location of the fire remains remote and is not threatening any structures. Smoke from the fire will be highly visible and drift throughout the south county. The county is still being impacted by smoke from the fires in Siskiyou County as well.
At the direction of CAL FIRE, P.G. & E. de-energized power lines that affected 900 customers in the Big Bend area to allow for fire fighter safety during the incident. P. G. & E. is in the process of restoring service to as many customers as possible. For specific information regarding this power outage, please call 1-800-743-5002.
